They've done it! 150 Miles for 150 Years

What an incredible three days it’s been! Our 150th Anniversary Charity Bike Ride has come to a triumphant close, with our riders pedalling 150 miles from The Kings Arms, Fulham, to The Riverside, Saltford.

Along the way, we retraced the footsteps, or rather the pedal strokes, of our founder Henry Wadworth, who first made this historic journey back in 1869. This time, we did it with an amazing team spirit, plenty of pint stops, and all in support of two brilliant charities: Julia’s House and the Licensed Trade Charity.

A Huge Thank You to Our Pub Stops

We couldn’t have done it without the warm welcomes, refreshments, and encouragement at every stop. From London to Saltford, our pubs kept us fuelled and cheered on the team. A heartfelt thank you to:

  • The Kings Arms, Fulham

  • The Wheelwright’s Arms, Reading

  • Broad Street Tavern, Wokingham

  • Bartons Mill, Basingstoke

  • The Lion, Newbury

  • Borough Arms, Hungerford

  • Green Dragon, Marlborough

  • Bear Hotel, Devizes

  • Folly Road Brewhouse, Devizes

  • Barge Inn, Seend

  • Canal Tavern, Bradford on Avon

  • And of course, our grand finale at The Riverside, Saltford

Each stop was more than just a chance to rest – it was a reminder of the community spirit that runs through our pubs.

The Penny Farthing Pedallers

A special shout-out goes to the incredible penny farthing group, who joined us for the final day’s leg from Devizes to Bradford on Avon. Their presence brought a real sense of heritage and spectacle to the ride, turning plenty of heads along the way!

The Team Behind the Scenes

This challenge wouldn’t have been possible without the team who organised, supported, and cheered on our cyclists every step of the way. From logistics to fundraising, their dedication made the whole journey seamless – and unforgettable.

Riding for a Reason

Every mile was for Julia’s House, providing outstanding hospice care for children and families, and the Licensed Trade Charity, supporting people across our industry. We’re proud to be raising vital funds for both, and if you haven’t had chance to support yet, there’s still time:

Here’s to 150 years of Wadworth, to the miles we’ve ridden, and to everyone who joined us on this unforgettable ride. From all of us – thank you.
