Put your best paw (and foot) forward for Wadwoof Walkies

International Dog Day is coming up (August 26) and we’re marking it with a pawsome event – a sponsored dog walk in aid of Dogs Trust.

As a dog-loving brewery with dog-friendly pubs and beer gardens dotted all over the south and west, we couldn’t let this special calendar date go by without marking it, Wadworth-style!

On Friday, August 26, we’re holding our very first Wadwoof Walkies, which starts and finishes at the Wadworth Brewery Tap & Shop in Devizes, SN10 1JW.

Kicking off at 5.30pm (although you can arrive before hand for pizza and treats!), the walk is open to all dog-walkers and, of course, their four-legged friends in all their large, small, short, tall, fluffy, wiry, cuddly, loveable (you get the gist) glory.

We have arranged both an hour-long route and a 30-minute alternative to suit you and your dog, both set up with water stations along the way.

Rewards for the tail-waggers

The first five people to sign-up will receive a special ‘thank you’, a ceramic dog bowl that’s been personalised with their pooch’s name by our super-talented signwriter, Wayne.

However, there’ll be no favouritism because we’ll be rewarding every dog that completes the walk with a rosette, as well as some treats and a much-deserved glug of dog beer that’s guaranteed to get tails wagging at the finishing line.

Treats for the lead-holders

For the humans, there’ll be hand-made pizza, available to buy from The Woodland Pizza Kitchen between 4pm and 8pm, as well as beer and other drinks to wash it down with from The Brewery Tap. We recommend pre-ordering your pizza before you set off on the walk.

You’ll also get the chance to have a professional photo taken of your dog looking their best with their Wadwoof Walkies rosette. We will share these with you after the event.

Just so you know, if it does turn out to be a sunny day, the route is mainly shaded. There aren’t any main roads to cross either.

Sound like something you and your pooch want to get involved with?
