Pawsome result – Wadwoof Walkies raises £300+ for Dogs Trust

Tails wagged and plenty of pairs of feet and paws were out in force for Wadwoof Walkies, our first ever sponsored dog walk.

Held in celebration of International Dog Day, the event turned out to be a pawsome experience for everyone who attended – all 37 dogs and more than 50 people.

Walking in aid of a worthy cause

Walkers were given the chance to complete a shorter 30-minute or a longer 1-hour route, which both started and finished at our Brewery Tap & Shop, and raised £325 for Dogs Trust.

Rewards & treats for everyone

While the walk may have been the main event, there were plenty of other things for our two and four-legged visitors to enjoy. For instance, a doggie photo booth, personalised ceramic dog bowls for the first five participants who signed up, as well as rosettes for everybody who took part.

And, of course, being a brewery, there was a drop of dog beer for the pooches to lap up and treats to munch away on after their walk. Meanwhile, their owners could refuel on Wadworth ale and other drinks, and slices of freshly-made pizza, courtesy of The Woodland Pizza Kitchen.

Thinking ahead to Wadwoof Walkies 2023…

As first events go, Wadwoof Walkies was a resounding success, so much so, we’ve already had many requests to hold it again next year. We may even make it even more of an occasion by adding a dog show into the mix.

‘As a dog-loving brewery with dog-friendly pubs across the south and west, we couldn’t have been more delighted to see so many dogs and their pawrents join us for Wadwoof Walkies,’ says our head of marketing, Sarah Berry.

‘We loved hosting the walk and having everyone back to the Brewery Tap afterwards for a well-deserved beer and treats for the dogs. It was so great to be able to get people and pups together socially, enjoy time together and raise money for an extremely worthy cause.’

Thank you to everybody who came along and helped make Wadwoof Walkies such a huge success. Watch this space, this year’s event is just the start for even more dog-tastic delights…
