Sustainability Policy

Wadworth & Co Ltd is a family-owned brewery that operates Managed pubs and small hotels and manages Tenanted sites mainly within the southwest of England. We are committed to sustainable development (meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs). We recognise that our activities have environmental and social impacts and it is our aim to minimise our negative impacts and to have a positive impact wherever we can.

To achieve this, we will:

Develop employee training and awareness to assist with our ambition in creating a sustainable future.
Continually improve energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions through our Carbon Reduction Management Plan.
With the assistance of an accredited third-party consultant, carry out a scope 3 calculation.
Put in place a food waste reduction plan.
Protect the environment by preventing pollution and by minimising the use of natural resources and the production of waste.
Manage Wadworth’s estate to preserve the historic buildings within it and encourage and maintain biodiversity where feasible.
Promote the use of sustainable modes of transport both for the logistics/distribution and company travel.
Continually improve sustainable purchasing practices.
Promote sustainability awareness and practice amongst all employees.
Comply fully with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and agreements.
Engage with other brewers and companies in the sector and the wider community to share environmental best practice and to demonstrate environmental responsibility.
Carry out our business practices in a way that is sensitive to our neighbours and interested parties.
Employees will be encouraged to carry out community days where they can volunteer with local charities, schools and other local groups.

Provide more information, guidance and advice on improving sustainability and environmental performance to our business partners operating our Tenanted sites.
