Swindon pub gets a makeover

£280k investment transforms pub

The Cross Keys in Wanborough near Swindon has just received a £280,000 makeover by independent family brewers, Wadworth.  The popular Wiltshire country pub now benefits from an additional 30 covers created by a new extension with views over the pub garden.

Speaking about the renovation, regional development manager for Wadworth, Denise Sheridan said, “We are delighted with the extension at the Cross Keys.  By removing an old conservatory and building a much larger area we are now able to accommodate all the people that drive to the pub to enjoy food.  The additional covers mean that diners will not be disappointed when they visit as there are so many more tables”.

The revamp is part of several investments in the region by Wiltshire based brewer and regional pub operator, Wadworth.  Twelve rooms have been refurbished at the Kings Arms in Melksham and the historic Waggon and Horses pub in Beckhampton has had an internal redecoration.

About Wadworth: Wadworth is an independent family brewer and regional pub operator, very proud of its West Country roots. Founded by Henry A Wadworth, the business passed to his founding partner John Smith Bartholomew and is now in the fourth-generation of ownership by the Bartholomew family. Wadworth has created original beers at its brewery in Devizes, Wiltshire since 1875 and is one of the few remaining family brewers to deliver to the local area using shire horses. It also has a 200-strong pub estate and works hard with its business partners and managers to ensure that the pubs offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, quality food and drink and excellent accommodation to make their customers’ days.
