Wadworth, the Devizes-based pub operator and family brewer, has introduced limited edition ales to celebrate two of the most popular sports of the summer.

The massively popular Dirty Rucker returns with a Kiwi twist as the ‘Hoppy Haka’ pays homage to the British and Irish Lions tour in New Zealand this June. And brand new brew, Filthy Chucker, is ‘a beer with a back spin’ inspired by the great British cricket season.

For those following the British and Irish Lions Tour from 3 June – 8 July 2017, Dirty Rucker Kiwi is a zesty, hoppy golden beer with a clean refreshing start, developing into a strong powerful bitterness. Made with New Zealand Rakau and Wimea hops, and a winning combination of Pale Ale malt, Caragold, Caramalt and flaked barley, this ale makes for the perfect drink to enjoy while watching The Lions take on the Kiwis.

Filthy Chucker will be available throughout May to celebrate the start of the cricket season. The tangy golden ale is brewed with two American hops to give it a punchy, zingy citrus flavour. Named after an illegal cricket bowl, orange and lemon peel are mixed with Pale Ale, Munich and Crystal malts in this unique beer, while Admiral, Cascade, Mosaic and Amarillo hops add bitterness and depth.

Elaine Beckett, head of marketing and communications at Wadworth said: “Our talented brewers have, once again, created two unique ales to celebrate two of our best-loved sports. After the success of the original Dirty Rucker last year, we’re confident the kiwi twist will prove just as popular with customers across our pub estate, while Filthy Chucker is bound to be a sure-fire hit for cricket lovers or those looking for a refreshing, golden summer ale.”
