Wadworth shires on tour

Wadworth, the independent family brewer based in Devizes has a bumper summer of events which its shire horses will attend.  Max, Archie and Sam who are usually seen trotting around Devizes in Wiltshire on their daily beer deliveries, will start the summer of events at the Cleveland Bay pub in Hampshire on the 5^th June.

They will also attend four country shows, eight individual pub events and Bowood Gold Course – Navy Wings Golf Day.  As reward for all this activity, they have their summer holiday to look forward to from Thursday 2^nd August where they will depart for over two weeks relaxing in pasture and eating grass to their hearts content.

Speaking about the shire horse summer events, CEO for Wadworth, Chris Welham said, “Having our own shire horses on tour this summer ensures that people can come and meet them and see how magnificent they are.  Max, Archie and Sam work very hard but this couldn’t be achieved without the tireless efforts from our shire horse team, led by head horseman, Martin Whittle.  Putting together our shires on tour programme takes a lot of work but it’s great to see so many customers and local people getting to see them”.

People can also see the shires horses as part of the Wadworth brewery tour and every Thursday morning at the brewery from 9.30 am.  Please note the horses will not be available at the brewery on the event dates.
