Wadworth, the regional pub operator and family brewer based in Wiltshire, is pleased to announce it has raised £6,000 for Fly Navy Heritage Trust through sales of its Swordfish beer, the official beer of the Fleet Air Arm.

Wadworth, the regional pub operator and family brewer based in Wiltshire, is pleased to announce it has raised £6,000 for Fly Navy Heritage Trust through sales of its Swordfish beer, the official beer of the Fleet Air Arm.

This is the latest donation raised through the close three year relationship between the brewery and the charity, which aims to raise awareness of the impact and influence of naval aviation and to keep the Navy’s historic aircraft flying. A cheque for £6,000 was presented by Chris Welham, CEO at Wadworth, to the Chief Executive of the Historic Navy Flight at Yeovilton, Jock Alexander.

Wadworth’s Swordfish beer is named after one of the key aircraft of the historic flight; the Swordfish was flown during World War Two and it played a key role in Britain’s naval strategy. For every barrel of Swordfish beer sold nationally, Wadworth donates £5 to the charity.

Chris Welham, CEO for Wadworth, said: “We are incredibly proud to sell our Swordfish beer to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. Our close relationship with the Fly Navy Heritage Trust is very important to us, and after three years we’re happy to see it go from strength to strength, and thank our customers for remaining supportive of the cause whilst enjoying a great pint of beer. We hope this is a partnership that will continue for many years to come.”
