Brewer’s notes
Bitterness
Hops
Malts
A strong, zingy pale ale with bold citrus notes, robust bitterness and a clean, lingering hop finish. Bright, punchy and unapologetically refreshing.
Despite the deceptively light colour, this ale has a strong taste with a burning hop bitterness and a long clean finish. The beer recipe includes five types of hops, which, combined with Pale Ale barley malt, give rise to a powerful and energetic ale.
Did you know?
Bishop’s Tipple was first brewed to commemorate the appointment of George Reindrop as Bishop of Salisbury in 1973 who declared it, “a temptress with its pale golden hue and soft after palate.”
It was originally brewed by Gibbs Mew, but was quite a different beer, a lot darker, more like Old Timer. The name came to us via Ushers brewery.
