6X 1923 – A Classic Recreated, Back for 2025

Some beers are timeless, and few carry the heritage of 6X. First brewed in 1923, the beer began its life as a 6% ale. Over time, it evolved into the 4.1% beer that has become a beloved staple across generations.
But in 2023, to mark 100 years of 6X, we delved back into our archives and recreated the original 6% recipe. We called it 6X 1923, and the response was incredible. So much so, that it returned in 2024… and now, by popular demand, it’s back once more in 2025.
6X 1923 captures the depth, richness, and balance of the beer as it was first enjoyed a century ago. Here’s what to expect:
ABV: 6%
Style: Ale
Colour: Rich copper,
Aroma: Sweet malt and ripe fruit, rounded with subtle earthy notes
Flavour: Smooth and full-bodied, with layers of sweet malt, gentle hop character and a long, satisfying finish
Ingredients
Hops: Classic English varieties – Fuggles and Goldings
Malts: Pale ale, maize, and crystal malts for depth and body
Yeast: Our unique Wadworth house strain, adding its signature character
