The incoming Business Partners should ideally have relevant experience in operating a successful hospitality business, with a strong focus on both food and drink. Proven catering and kitchen management experience will be particularly important, alongside a genuine commitment to delivering high standards of customer service.

The Black Horse occupies an excellent position on the edge of Devizes town centre, situated along one of the principal routes into and out of this popular and historic market town.

The pub benefits from a particularly attractive setting alongside the Kennet and Avon Canal, making it a natural destination for both local residents and visitors exploring the area. The nearby Caen Hill Locks are a major attraction, drawing visitors throughout the year and providing a strong source of passing trade along the canal towpath.

The pub's picturesque canalside garden offers an appealing setting for outdoor dining and drinking, with its position directly alongside the towpath helping to attract customers from both the canal and surrounding area. Its proximity to the town centre further enhances its appeal, with the pub being just a short distance from the heart of Devizes.

The pub offers a flexible range of customer seating areas, providing options for both casual drinking and dining. Bar seating is positioned on entry, creating a welcoming space for casual customers, while a raised seating area provides a spacious restaurant setting with direct access to the garden.

A separate dining area offers further flexibility and can be utilised for individual dining covers, private functions, or larger bookings. The pub provides approximately 70 internal covers in total.

To the same side of the building is a dedicated stock room and glass-wash area, leading through to a fully equipped trade kitchen with additional storage. The cellar is conveniently located beneath the bar. 

The ground floor is also served by gents', ladies' and disabled toilet.
