Devizes Hockey Club get their kit on

|   News

New Wadworth shirts for local club

Devizes Hockey Club has a whole new kit for their two men’s and two lady’s adult league teams courtesy of independent family brewer Wadworth.  The new look kit features Wadworth 6X and is part of a three-year sponsorship deal with the family brewer and Devizes Hockey.

Speaking about the sponsorship, commercial director for Wadworth, Jonathan Thomas said, “We have been involved with many local sports teams in Devizes and this is very important to us.  Enjoying a pint of ale after a sporting fixture or match is often as good as the game itself and we felt as the local brewers located where the teams play we should support them both on and off the pitch”.

The sponsorship is for three years and is a continuation of the long term sponsorship of the club by Wadworth.

Simon Church, hockey team club member said, “Having Wadworth as our sponsors is fantastic.  We are really grateful for our new kit which looks brilliant”.

Devizes Hockey Club will be showing off their new kit at two memorial matches on Friday 7th September from 6.00pm in memory of Annie and Charlie Sherman who were both active members of the club.  Each match will be with a team of veteran ladies and veteran men teams vs current players.

About Wadworth: Wadworth is an independent family brewer and regional pub operator, very proud of its West Country roots. Founded by Henry A Wadworth, the business passed to his founding partner John Smith Bartholomew and is now in the fourth-generation of ownership by the Bartholomew family. Wadworth has created original beers at its brewery in Devizes, Wiltshire since 1875 and is one of the few remaining family brewers to deliver to the local area using shire horses. It also has a 200-strong pub estate and works hard with its business partners and managers to ensure that the pubs offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, quality food and drink and excellent accommodation to make their customers’ days.
