Wadworth “Studs Up” beer gives a real kick ready for the World Cup

Wadworth World Cup beer ready to score with drinkers

Wadworth the independent family brewer based in Devizes has created a gleaming golden ale in support of the national football team, England for this year’s summer of sport. Studs Up Pale Ale is brewed with a blend of four carefully selected hops to give the beer a real kick.

The beer will be available through June and July and will help support and motivate the England team when they play in the World Cup in Russia.  To ensure they win, Studs Up will remain the name but if they are defeated, the pump clip changes to “Messed Up” making the beer on the bar interactive as the tournament continues.

Speaking about Studs Up, CEO for Wadworth, Chris Welham says, “We are all behind the national team in Russia and as always we will be avidly watching and willing them to do well.  Watching the tournament for England fans is often a bittersweet and a very emotional experience and so our beer will change name reflecting our emotional state and the performance of the team.  We’re hoping the “Messed Up” badge won’t be required; fingers crossed”.

The beer itself won’t turn sour whatever the outcome.  It has zesty, grapefruit notes and a mouth-watering juicy character, clean and refreshing at the first sip developing into a strong, powerful bitterness.

Studs Up is available in pubs in June and July and is a brand new seasonal ale in 2018 from Wadworth.
